Healing | Spaces investigates the tensions that often resonate between embodied knowledge and science. Through the use of video and sound, Healing | Spaces attempts to travel beyond those limitations by creating an experiential environment, one that focuses on the senses, emotions and the embodied experiences surrounding the healing bonds between people and animals, allowing the spectator to reexamine her own preconceptions of discourses that are culturally defined. Healing | Spaces addresses the tension between the physical and the discursive, and finds in the images of the dogs represented therein a metaphor for a regained closeness to our physical selves through our interactions with non-human beings.
