…as can be is a meditation on the fragile and fragmented nature of traumatic memory. Reflecting on her father’s suicide when she was seven years old, the filmmaker traces the experience of loss as a longing to remember, an attempt to hold faded moments briefly in consciousness before they recede again.
Through still images, the film creates a layered landscape of haunted fragments, driven by the desire to uncover a narrative for the father she never knew.
